For goodness sake don't tell my Jasper he can have his own tent AND cushions! He rules the house as it is. Right now, at midday, he's stretched out on the back of the sofa, having spent an active morning moving from his warm spot on the children's beds.
He's lucky here, as we have a two acre garden which connects to the forest, so he's got plenty of room to wander.
I just wish he'd stop bringing baby rabbits home. We love 'em, but have to nurse them back to health before sending the back to the wild.
Any outdoor small animal enclosure must be part covered. Our new super expanded rabbit/guinea pig run has boarding at one end, with a short roof, so that they can shelter from the regular British rainsrtorms, and from the irregular British sunshine too. AS with cats, lots of toys, so they don't get bored. (That's when they're awake of course).

[...] You have got some cats and love all of them to pieces. You want to keep them all safe and definitely not come home from work one day and find one of them has disappeared. You recognize some cats are actually born wanderers and this is definitely when they are going to run into problems. The sort of trouble that stops them from heading home again. Before this occurs there are simple steps you are able to take which can prevent one of your precious cats going missing. The actual answer of course is to build a cat run or an outdoor cat house.
We have some cats and cat enclosures. It simply gives us so much peace of mind to know our cats are safe from predators.

Just a quick note.

My nine year old daughter said I 'MUST' buy a scratching post for the head of the house, our cat Jasper.

I pointed out to her that we have a two acre garden with about 300 trees in it!

Now, what's the scratching post for???

My family have a much loved (spoilt) black cat, Jasper. Where we live is rural and therfore relatively safe, except for the wild boars.
However, the idea of a safe outdoor enclosure could be beneficial if we need to keep him close to the house.
All I've got to do first, is jemmy him off the back of the sofa, which is where he's stretched out most of the time.
Just for fun, take a look at this, just as 53 million others have, it's my kids' favourite.

Bunnies and Guinea Pigs. What;s that got to do with Cat Cages? Well, coincidentally, my three girls have finally applied leverage to aquire two guine pigs and a lovely Lion Face bunny. Now while they live in double decker luxury hutches, we didn't like the thought of them sitting in there all day, waiting for their 'mums' to come home, so we got a run from Freecycle. Now although this was adequate I suppose, it wasn't really big enough for the three of them to run around, especially if the girls wanted to play in there too.
So - Super Run. We have now built a run big enough for the children to play with their pets, while stopping the bunny making a break for it. I'll get the dimensions tomorrow, take some pics, and send them. The dimensions would be perfect for up to 3/4 cats easily, and tall enough to add climbing thingies too. One final thing. The wire room comes off in three sections, and - the whole pen/cage can be folded flat for moving or storage! Cool huh?
